Lake Havasu City Police say that 33 year old Sonya Lopez, a transient, was arrested on Wednesday after it was reported that Lopez contacted an individual which has a valid order of protection against her by means of texts and voicemails. Lopez was asked to meet the RP at TRI-M Mini Mart to make an arrest in this case, however when officers made contact with Lopez and attempted to place her into custody, she pulled away numerous times and resisted arrest. A history check of Lopez shows past arrests for Domestic Violence/Assault and Criminal Damage out of Illinois.

An arrest will not be posted if LHCPD is looking for additional subjects related to the case or if LHCPD does not want to jeopardize any additional cases that may be linked to the original incident.
