Havasu Scanner Feed has learned through other public reports that former Lake Havasu City Police Officer, John Johnson (aka “JJ”) was arraigned Thursday by Mohave County Superior Court on 43 charges of forgery, and also charges of removing dangerous drugs from the evidence room and theft of approximately $4,895 in undercover funds – all which ruined several investigations underway during Johnson’s employment as a Drugs Investigator with the department.

Johnson, pled “Not Guilty” to the charges, moved to Massachusetts, and will conduct a telephonic court hearing with lawyers on June 13th.

Two DPS and three Lake Havasu City Police Detectives investigated the 11 cases between 2007 and 2012.

Investigations began April 2013 and ended October 2013. The case was submitted to  Yavapai County Attorney’s Office.  Johnson started with the department in October 1998 resigned in 2014.

Lake Havasu City Police Chief Dan Doyle told media sources he’s ready to move on and allow prosecutors to make the right decisions.

“It’s embarrassing to the department and a betrayal to us and the community,” Doyle said.
