On Monday, February 8th LHCPD met with Mohave County Prosecutor Jeremy Huss to relay information in a case they were working. A stolen toolbox and razor were located in the desert containing fingerprints from Robert Allen Edwards, 45, out of Lake Havasu City. It was also relayed to the prosecutor that during an interview with another suspect in the case, the individual gave specific detail to the crime and stated Edwards and another suspect were the ones that committed the burglary. After being briefed on the case and the details, Jeremy Huss stated that he would file Commercial Burglary charges against Robert Allen Edwards.
On Friday, February 19th at approximately 5:55 PM officers from the Street Crimes Unit were driving by the address in the 3800 block of Saratoga Avenue when they noticed a large overhead garage door open and could see Edwards standing on the drivers side of a red colored Dodge Ram truck that was parked inside the garage. Officers approached and asked Edwards to step outside the garage, to which he complied. He was immediately placed into handcuffs and informed he was under arrested for Commercial Burglary.
The garage was secured to the residence and Edwards was transported to the Lake Havasu City Jail.
Edwards claims no connection to the burglary at M and M Storage, that he was never there. He denied knowledge of the stolen Polaris found and added that he was in jail at the time it was located. Edwards does recall a friends razor being in his storage unit, but states that several people have access to his storage unit. He did not wish to elaborate on who had access to his storage unit at that time.
