Man Driving on Island’s Bike Path Arrested for DUI

On Saturday May 29th at approximately 4:07 PM Rosalio Galarza, 30, out of Lake Havasu City was arrested at Beachcomber Blvd. for Driving Under the Influence – Slightest Degree after he was stopped for driving on the island bike path and speeding. Upon contact, Galarza was found to be operating under the influence of Spirituous Liquor. Galarza displayed bloodshot watery eyes, poor balance, slow/slurred speech, and performed poorly on SFSTs. on the passenger side floor were 8 empty 12-oz. Bud Light cans.

A PBT resulted with a .261 BAC.

The vehicle was turned over to the registered owner.

A search warrant was signed by Honorable Judge Kalauli granting permission to place a blood sample into evidence. 2 Vials of blood were drawn, packaged, and sent to the lab.

Additional charges are pending the lab’s blood test results.
