MCSO Arrests Indio California Female on Identity Theft, Drugs, Shoplifting, False Information to Law Enforcement

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Denise Lizarraga Rios, 28, of Indio, CA, early Saturday (4/30) morning for taking identity of another, possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies, along with shoplifting and false report to law enforcement officers, misdemeanors. Approximately 1:00 a.m., deputies responded to a theft report at a convenience store located in the 14700 block of Highway 95. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the reporting party, an employee.
The employee advised that a female subject attempted to purchase items with several gift cards which none of the cards worked. The employee reported that the female subject picked up the items and walked out of the store. Deputies contacted the female subject outside of the store. The female subject identified herself as another person. Later, deputies determined her true identity to be Rios. Rios advised that she paid for the items using a credit card. Then, Rios advised that she did not pay for the items because an employee told her she could take the items and leave. A search of Rios revealed the following recovered stolen items; an electronic cigarette dispenser, a cartridge and an electronic cigarette device. The total value of the recovered items were $61.57. Rios was taken into custody without incident. Deputies also located amongst Rios belongings a pipe with white crystal residue. She was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. A search of Rios at the jail revealed a second pipe.
