Wyoming Man Cited for Expired Vessel Registration and No Type-4 Throwable Flotation Device

On Thursday March 24th at approximately 4:14 PM John Tyson Cobb out of Savery Wyoming was contacted as the operator of a 2006 White and Red Yamaha AR210 having a bow rider and creating a wake in the area of Sign 1 in the Bridgewater Channel. Upon contact Officers observed that the registration sticker showed expired 2013. A temporary registration sticker showing expiration 2014 was displayed by Cobb. Cobb advised that the vessel is currently registered by could not provide any documentation. Upon conducting a safety inspection it was learned Cobb did not possess a Coast Guard Approved Type-4 Throwable Flotation Device. Cobb stated he was not aware he needed one. He was issued a Citation for Expired Vessel Registration and not having a Type-4 Throwable Flotation Device. Cobb was provided one the required flotation device by Lake Havasu City PD.
